I chose to wear white socks instead of going barefoot. Every corner against every wall was filthy, having not been vacuumed in months, maybe years. The floor was filthy, not just with debris, clutter, fingernail clippings, dust, hair, stains and dark spots. She acted like I was reporting something she was totally familiar with and kept a perfect poker-face, absolutely no response, as if she were waiting for me to tell her why having cockroaches was a bad thing. There was no response from the person at the counter. I went to the check-in counter to report cockroaches personally.
Now, let's get into the specifics of why this place is a fleabag hotel: I told the person at the check-in and was met with smiling indifference, 'I'll mention it to the cleaning manager.' As you might suspect, we never saw our stolen items again. That, as it turned out, was the only good thing about it.įirst, we had items stolen from the room the first day we were there.
I chose this hotel because it was close to the Las Vegas Convention Center.
